After reading Dr. Seuss's "Ten Apples Up On Top" we put ten paper apples on top of our head (see picture). Tristan is working on cutting out apples numbered 1-10 and put them in order on top of his head.

This week we also worked more with patterns. The students were given a handful of pattern blocks and made lots of A/B & A/B/B patterns!

Lots of great pattern makers!!

We also sorted apples by size..

Every week we add another "circle" to our growing color caterpillar. It is getting SO big! They will come home with their caterpillar when we are finished celebrating all 10 colors!

Thanks for the "T" snack Tristan... it sure was fun to eat Teddy Grahams in a "teddy bear" cup!

Apple Day Prints! All the kindergarten classes had a different apple station. In  Miss Workman's classroom all the students in K made Johnny Appleseed hats. In Mrs. Farnsworth's classroom they got to listen to an apple story and taste different kinds of apples. In my classroom they made their own apple tree, with apple prints. They enjoyed painting the apples and creating their own apple tree.

We also enjoyed lots of tasty apple treats after our apple stations. Thanks for your help in making this day a success! Ask your child what they learned about apples this week!
