Apple Day!
Last week we studied Apples. We learned about the parts of an apple, that it takes 6 years to grow an apple tree, that they come in many colors, that there are 7,500 kinds of apples in the world, and much more! On Friday, we had a "Fun Friday", where we mix up the three classes and they travel to each teacher, where they get to engage in an apple activity. On Friday, we made Johnny Appleseed hats, made an "A is for Apple" tear and paste apple, and read about Johnny Appleseed. We also got to eat apple pie, applesause, apple cider, apple juice, apple oatmeal bars, apple slices, apple muffins, and apple butter. Ask your child about their favorite part of apple day! Here's a look at our Apple Day!

Thanks for helping us make apple day a success!! Until next time..

Blue Day!

Thank you Savannah for bringing in the blue treat!

Today we met our new Reading Buddies in Mrs. McMichael's 4th grade class. Every Wednesday afternoon, we will meet with our 4th grade friends. Today they read to us. Next week we will begin reading to them as well. The children were engrossed in the stories and excited to make friends with older students. Ask your child about it!

Until next time..

Many exciting things have been happening in Kindergarten! Here is a quick look through pictures of what we have been doing!

Twinkle, Twinkle..
Last week's Nursery Rhyme of the week was Twinkle, Twinkle. The students got their nursery rhyme books, followed along with the rhyme, colored the picture, and looked for letter Mm.

Malik McCartney brought in Marshmallows for M Day! Thank you! :)

We learned how to use dry erase boards! They were thrilled! We wrote our name, drew shapes, wrote letters, numbers, and words!

Red Day! Thanks to Danielle for bringing in delicious apple cut out cookies to celebrate Red day!

Last week we were studying "Mrs. Wishy Washy" we made retellers that hopefully your child retold the story to you! We also had a "Wishy Washy Snack" which was pudding with anima crackers. Since in the story the animals roll, paddle, and jump in the mud!

YELLOW DAY!!!

We painted the sun, talked about Curious George, made the man in the yellow hat hats, and ate bannanas and lemon muffins (thanks Katie!) It was a great yellow day! Ask your child to sing the yellow song for you!!
