Pink Week!
This week we have been learning all about bats, spiders, singing Itsy Bitsy Spider and so much more. The color we are celebrating is Pink! On Pink Day, Wednesday we got to chew BUBBLE GUM (sugarless ;)) because it's pink and I turned it into an academic activity. We made a portrait of ourselves blowing bubbles. We graphed who could and could not blow a bubble and analyzed the data. We also got to eat pink vortman cookies and drink pink lemonade!

Making our self-portraits!

We had our vortman cookies outside before recess and
pink lemonade after music class! What a treat!

Can you blow a bubble? Ask your child if they could!

Our school is lucky enough to have two ipod labs for the grades to share. Today Mrs. Armour, one of our wonderful technology people gave our class a tutorial on the basics of how to use an ipod. We learned how to go "home" on the ipod, about apps (what they are, etc), and how to take pictures using the front and back camera. I tell ya, they were excited to use these! Here is a peek into our Ipod time today..

Maysen, learning how to "swipe" so that it is no longer sleeping.
Working hard, learning how to take pictures.

We will use the ipods at least once a week. There is a class set so every child has their own to work on. Next week we will learn how to email the pictures to me, then I can post some here!

Later in the day, we used shaving cream to write our numbers on the table. Then we began to use a number board to count. We used m&ms to help us! What a treat..

Busy counting away on his number board..

Lots of counting! When we were finished, we sorted by color... then ate of course!

Laila began hugging me at recess and it turned into a massive group hug. Pretty fun, had to share... we love school! Until next time..
